SLA vs SLS — Which is Right for You?

SLA (Stereolithography)

  • • Photopolymer resin cured by UV laser
  • • Ultra-smooth surface finish, fine detail
  • • Ideal for dental, jewellery, master patterns
  • • Requires support structures, post-curing
  • • Less suited for structural/mechanical parts

SLS (Powder Bed Fusion)

  • • Nylon powder fused by CO₂ laser
  • • No support structures needed
  • • Isotropic strength — ideal for functional parts
  • • PA12, PA11, CF-Nylon, TPU powder materials
  • • Preferred for defence, aerospace, industrial

AutoAbode's SinterX Pro is India's first domestically manufactured industrial SLS 3D printer — the recommended choice for functional industrial and defence applications.

Big SLA Printer India — FAQ

What is the biggest SLA or resin 3D printer available in India?+

AutoAbode's Giga 3D Printer offers India's largest build volume at 1000×1000×1000mm (FDM). For SLS, the SinterX Pro is India's largest domestic industrial SLS printer. AutoAbode also supplies large-format photopolymer resin printers on request.

What is the difference between SLA and SLS 3D printing?+

SLA uses UV laser to cure liquid resin — excellent for smooth surfaces and fine detail. SLS uses laser to fuse nylon powder — ideal for strong, isotropic engineering parts. For industrial and defence applications, SLS is generally recommended.

Can big 3D printers be used for aerospace and defence in India?+

Yes. AutoAbode serves DRDO, Indian Army and aerospace firms with industrial SLS and large-format FDM systems. For structural components, SLS (PA12/CF-Nylon) and high-temp FDM (PEEK/ULTEM) are the industry standards.
